Terms of use

The short version

Bizarre Love Polygon is a free app, for adults, for fun. What you add stays on your device and is your responsibility. Use nicknames, respect the people on your map, and never use the app to track, expose or hurt anyone. The app comes as it is, with no guarantees.

Who we are, and agreeing to these terms

Bizarre Love Polygon (lovepolygon.com) is made by nubuza ("we", "us"). By using the app you accept these terms and the privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

Age

You must be 18 or older to use Bizarre Love Polygon.

Your content is yours, and your responsibility

Everything you add (nicknames, places, dates, notes, your photo) is stored on your own device, and in your own Google Drive if you turn on sync. We never receive it, can’t see it and don’t check it. You alone decide what to add and you are responsible for it, including following the laws that apply to you, such as privacy and data protection laws about other people.

Respect the people on your map

Use the app only for your own memories, kindly. You must not use it to:

• track, follow, stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or record where someone is without their knowledge;
• reveal someone’s identity, address, sexual orientation, health or private life, or shame or "out" anyone, in a card, a video or anything else you post;
• add someone’s real name or identifying details to anything you share without their consent;
• use photos of other people without their permission;
• do anything illegal, or help anyone else do so.

Share cards and videos show no names unless you choose to, and "Blur exact places" moves each heart, but what you publish, and where, is your decision and your responsibility.

Sharing

When you share a card or a video, you publish it on another service (Instagram, WhatsApp, TikTok…) under that service’s rules. You must have the right to share everything in it, including the photo on the sticker.

Don’t attack the service

Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or get around the security of the app or the services it uses, and don’t use it to send spam or malware.

Keep backups: lost data can’t be recovered

Your data lives in your browser, and browsers can clear website data (iPhones especially). Keep Drive sync on or save backup files now and then. By design nobody, including us, can recover a forgotten PIN, a forgotten backup passphrase or a lost recovery code. We are not responsible for lost data.

Outside services

The app relies on services run by others: Cloudflare (hosting), OpenFreeMap and OpenStreetMap (the map), Photon (place search), Google (Drive sync, ads) and PayPal (donations). Their own terms apply when you use them, and we can’t promise they will always be available.

Ads and donations

The app is free and supported by ads. Donations are voluntary gifts: they are not refundable and don’t buy any feature, right or service.

Our rights, and theirs

The app, its design, the name Bizarre Love Polygon and Polly the mascot belong to nubuza. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Open-source components are used under their own licences. You keep all rights to what you add; you give us none, since we never receive it.

For fun, as it is

Bizarre Love Polygon is entertainment. Areas, distances and the other stats are approximate and playful, not facts to rely on. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We may change, pause or stop the app, or any part of it, at any time.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, for lost data, or for how you or anyone else uses the app or what is shared with it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the new version is published on this page with a new date at the top. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the new terms.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. If you use the app as a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
